A servo system consists of three main components: the controller, the power-drive unit, the feedback device, and the motor.
• Controller – continuously compares the reference value from the CNC system with the actual value measured by the feedback device and adjusts the control variable accordingly.
• Power-drive unit – forms the system’s main power loop. On one hand, it applies electrical energy from the mains to the motor in proportion to the control variable, regulating motor torque; on the other hand, it converts the constant-voltage/constant-frequency mains supply into the AC or DC power required by the motor.
• Motor – converts the supplied electrical energy into mechanical motion, driving the load in accordance with the power delivered.
Environmental Specifications
Operating temperature / humidity: 0 – 55 °C (no freezing), ≤ 90 % RH (non-condensing).
Storage temperature / humidity: –20 – 65 °C (no freezing), ≤ 90 % RH (non-condensing).
Ambient atmosphere: inside a control cabinet free of corrosive or flammable gases, oil mist, dust, etc.
Altitude: ≤ 1 000 m above sea level.
Vibration: ≤ 0.5 G (4.9 m/s²), 10 – 60 Hz (non-continuous operation).
Protection: The servo drive itself is not protected; it must be installed in a well-sealed electrical enclosure that prevents ingress of corrosive or flammable gases, conductive objects, metallic dust, oil mist, or liquids.
